July 10–13, 2025
Hanzas Perons, Riga
CUT ART is pleased to announce its participation in the inaugural Riga Contemporary Art Fair, taking place from July 10 to 13, 2025, at Hanzas Perons—a historic railway warehouse transformed into one of Riga’s most dynamic cultural spaces.

The fair will feature over 35 international galleries, offering a platform for contemporary art from the Baltics, the Nordics, the USA, Japan, and beyond. Presenting a global perspective on regional artistic practices, the invitation-only fair brings together both emerging and established artists.

At Booth 09, CUT ART will present a group exhibition featuring works by Vahid Sharifian and Roberts Balins. United by an exploration of the human body, the presentation invites viewers into a dialogue between the physical and the psychological—between corporeal forms and the landscapes of the mind.

Vahid Sharifian, a renowned Iranian artist, brings his distinctive visual language and philosophical concept of Papa’ism to Riga. Sharifian has exhibited at institutions such as Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac and the Venice Biennale, and has been featured in ARTnews, The New York Times, Art in America, and more. His works reflect on the persistent centrality of the human body in art:
“Our dreams, childhood, and daily life are shaped around the body. Artists have always been challenged to create new ways to express it—it’s a lifelong obsession.”
Roberts Balins, a rising Latvian sculptor, presents pieces from his ongoing Cowboy series, where tubular, anthropomorphic forms echo personal memory, myth, and emotional complexity.
“These are primitive feelings,” Balins explains, “that, when combined with opposing forces, create a state of layered emotion.”
